2010 Centennial Spring Fling Wrap Up

What a show this year at Centennial's second annual Spring Fling! The dogs were so excited to put on a show and the audience was enthusiastic.

Lots to see at this show, we started with a trick show by Christi and Dharma. The crowd went wild when Dharma did a foot stall, I don't think anyone had ever seen one before! Next up Tracy and Angus' freestyle routine, and as usual, Angus went for the 'audience participation' and kept handing the disc to people, insisting that they throw it for him.

Our next act was 'train a dog' with a special twist. Christi and Dharma were enacting the training session with Pam and her new Aussie pup, Amadeus - only thing is - Amadeus thought it was more fun to chase Dharma. Let me just say, chaos ensued!

We had an exciting round of Relay Blitz with Scott and Russ as their dogs held the audience captive with the crazy back and forth action. Our second round of Relay Blitz was Bob & Jane and at the end of it all, the teams were tied 6-6. What's Relay Blitz? Check out the video and see! Video.

Our next freestyle team was AJ & Maverick - I haven't seen Mav play in awhile and that dog was burning up the grass. I don't know how AJ keeps up with him. Clearly a crowd favorite, this dog always goes at 110%.

New to the show this year is 6o Second Madness and Amy O'Brien and her two pups, Kipp & Roxy kept the crowd cheering. I think Amy got off 10 throws and had 7 catches - all in 60 seconds. Amazing.

We closed the show with a freestyle performance by Chris & Banzai and as usual, Banzai was bigger than life, back to back tricks with her own spin on things. Check them out on video!

Thanks CDD Demo team! Keep up the good work!

2010 Furry Scurry Performance

The Denver Dumb Friend's League annual Furry Scurry was held Saturday, May 1st in Washington Park. I have attended this event for about 5 years now and the crowd this year was huge. It was an inspiring event, seeing all of these animal lovers stepping out for such a good cause. The Dumb Friends website has a wrap up of the event.

This year we put on a jam session with Tracy & Angus, Russ & Mariah, and Marie & Nana - the dogs were loving the crowd! Check out our video of the jam here: Jam Session.

The relay blitz teams kept the crowd pumped up with fast moving action - the dogs were on fire! The blitz teams included Bob & Shadow, Russ & Buddy & Charlie, Scott & Toby, Sherry & Brooke, Darrel & Murphy.

All the teams thank 'the crew' - both Rick and Pam - thanks for lending a hand.

The Colorado Disc Dogs are proud to donate their time every year to this awesome event.

Denver Furry Scurry - May 1st

A major fund raiser for The Denver Dumb Friends League is the annual Furry Scurry. This is a two mile walk/run that brings out tens of thousands of people every year.

Every year the club donates performances to selected charities throughout the Colorado region. This year marks the thirteenth season that the Colorado Disc Dogs have performed at this event. Come see the disc dog action on Saturday, May 1st at 10:45 am in the Doggie Demo arena next to the race finish line.

Here's a piece of the action from last year's event. Disc Dog Video

We hope to see you there for this worthy cause!

About the Show

Our shows are tailored to your event. We provide the sound system and liability insurance for every show. Whether it's half-time at a professional sporting event, or a 20 minute performance for your last day of school, Colorado Disc Dogs bring pure entertainment to your event.

First Demo Day is a Hit!

So much of what we do this year will be accomplished by a group of people working together to try new things. Saturday was our first meeting to get new ideas ironed out and to find out how we can best work together. Since we have some demos coming up pretty quick (to be announced shortly), I think we made some great headway!

There was plenty of snow on the ground, but that didn't seem to dampen anyone's spirit. And even though most of us felt rusty in our freestyle, it was good to see people showing us their moves.

The new toss and catch format is going to kick it up a notch - so make sure you catch an upcoming demo by the Colorado Disc Dogs!

Many thanks to the teams that participated - team member announcements to be made shortly!
